How to start using the Picturenaut commandline version on Macos X (10.8.2)?

Hello,

Wanted to test the Picturenaut commandline version on Macos X (10.8.2)

Not that good in the command line stuff but read the Picturenaut faq.pdf

The manual mentions the usage of a Windows computer but not a Mac

For example

c:> mkhdri -a -co:myCurve.txt -out:myPic.tif myPics\*.tif

How would I start the command line Mac version the same way? Can't even start up the command line version. Perhaps need firts go to the correct directory with the command line and then start up mkhdri?

ps sorry for the perhaps silly question Wink

Thanks!

Bob

Hoi Rob,

Smiley Thanks!

Not often use the terminal app.... so things are easily forgotten.

Meanwhile found out that could start the command line version of mkhdri by simply drag and drop it on a open terminal.

Now can start playing with it.

Greetings

Bob

If you want to hack the terminal in style, you need this terminal app:

Here's the man page.

I've used it on my Mac for a while - handy tool.

And here's a simple command line, err, command.

Code:
mkhdri -linear -cb -out:filename.exr *.CR2

that means linear input (raw files) with color balance applied with an EXR output of "filename.exr" with all of the input files in the working directory with .CR2 extensions.

So I basically stick all of the raw exposures in a single directory and then use the *.CR2 wildcard.

Place the mkhdri path in your $PATH environment variable and you can call it from the working directory.

Sorry Christian & Kirk for this extreme late response! Completely forgot about checking this page...

Thanks for the info very useful!

ps 1 Kirk yes Cathode is looking great "old skool" Smiley
ps 2 just bought Windows 7 running on Parallels 8. Windows 7 runs better/quicker/more responsive then OSX Mountain Lion on a MacPro.. incredible.....

Greetings
