I can tell you for certain that the loader works with R12 on the Mac

I'm not sure at the moment why you're having problems. If you've pointed the loader to a collection, and that's a valid path on your machine, then the loader should read any sIBL sets in that path. So, I know it's a silly question, but just to check, have you downloaded some sIBL sets from the archive on this site or elsewhere? I ask because if you don't have any sets yet, you won't see anything in the preset browser.
Secondly, if you do have some sets, are they in the correct hierarchical layout as specified in the manual? It should look something like this:
- collection folder
|
-> set folder 1
| |
| -> .ibl file
| |
| -> various image files
|
-> set folder 2
|
-> set folder 3
|
-> etc., etc.
You MUST have it set up so that each sIBL set is in its own folder which is a sub-folder of the collection. The loader must be pointed at the collection; if you point the loader directly at a set folder (i.e. one which contains a file with the extension .ibl) it will not work.
Can you check these things and let us know the results?
