HDR Photostudio for HDR lighting.

Hey, Bloch and all,
Thank you for the news update.
Would you elaborate how the HDR Photostudio is invaluable for preparing HDRIs for lighting as mentioned in the news post? Does it change your workflow perference (Photomatix + PTGui -> HDR Photostudio + PTGui)?

Thanks,
Jason

No, it doesn't replace anything. I still go Photomatix Batch -> PTGui -> Photoshop for Clone Stamp / Cleanup. That's the generic Master HDRI. But then, when the plate comes in, all sorts of grading has been done to that. Then the colors and white balance need adjustment, and for this HDR Photostudio is the best. Photoshop sucks at this, I used to do that in Fusion (and still do sometimes), but HDR Photostudio seems to deliver a much cleaner result.

Whenever an HDRI needs a derivation, like "Great clouds, but it should be more purple instead of orange". Or, the HDRI needs a colder feel. Or it needs to be more cheerful. That stuff.

Oh, I see. So, it is helping on the grading process to match the plate. I guess, as you mentioned in the post, its capability to work completely in the float-point space and features like white-balancing and color-tuning makes it stand out on top of other packages in this regard.

Thanks,
Jason

Blochi, Thank you for clarifying where HDR Photostudio fits in the work flow.  I had dismissed this product initially when I attempted to use it.  I now understand the value it brings and where and I purchased a license.
