Need Help: Vue 7.5 and sIBL Creation
Oct 21st, 2009 at 5:56pm

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with Vue 7.5 and creating sIBLs.  I know you can export a sky and a picture in .hdr but I do not know much else.  I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with this software and how they get sIBL Edit to work with it.

My biggest question is how are the environment, background, and reflection images differ and how would you generate these images with Vue 7.5.  Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Well, just render one high-res HDRI out of Vue, maybe in 8000x4000.
Kirt describes here how that goes:

From here on you're in the same boat like a photographer. sIBL-Edit will split these images for you, the easiest way is just drag-n-drop the HDRI on sIBL-Edit.

Here is a tutorial movie on authoring:

Hope this helps,
Christian
