Yeah does'nt surprise me much, JScript is specifically a Microsoft Script Language, kind of a javascript spinoff. You never know how those things works in Linux, especially with MainWin and XSI Smiley

Unfortunately I think it will not be the only problem, when the template was small pretty much everything was working. Now it has nearlly double/triple in size :]

Is it possible to tell me wich XSI Version you are using ? 7.0, 7.1, 7.5 ?

Ok Thanx, so we have the same version currently, can you try this code ( It's VBScript ):

Code:
'---------------------------------------------------------
' This example shows how to add an image clip from an image source.
'---------------------------------------------------------
option explicit

' First, add an image source.
Dim oSourceObj, ImageFile
ImageFile = Application.InstallationPath( siFactoryPath ) & "/Data/XSI_SAMPLES/Pictures/xsilogo.jpg"
SIAddImageSource ImageFile, "XSIlogo", oSourceObj

' Now create an image clip from the image source.
Dim oClipObj
SIAddImageClip oSourceObj, "XSIlogo_Clip", oClipObj

' Now output some information about the clip, and its source.
Dim SourceName, SourceFile, XRes, YRes
SourceName = GetValue( oClipObj & ".Source.Name" )
logmessage oClipObj & " Source	 : " & CStr(SourceName)
SourceFile = GetValue( oClipObj & ".SourceFileName" )
logmessage oClipObj & " Source File  : " & CStr(SourceFile)
XRes = GetValue( "Sources." & SourceName & ".XRes" )
logmessage oClipObj & " X Resolution : " & CInt(XRes)
YRes = GetValue( "Sources." & SourceName & ".YRes" )
logmessage oClipObj & " Y Resolution : " & CInt(YRes)

It's taken from the SDK Documentation and was'nt working for me :|

SIAddImageClip "Sources.XSIlogo", "XSIlogo_Clip"
' INFO : Clips.XSIlogo_Clip Source	 : XSIlogo
' INFO : Clips.XSIlogo_Clip Source File  : /usr/Softimage/XSI_7.0/Data/XSI_SAMPLES/Pictures/xsilogo.jpg
' INFO : Clips.XSIlogo_Clip X Resolution : 500

If you don't have any errors, it's really positive, meaning XSI works fine for you ! Smiley
I'm at work currently but I have my laptop, I'll update my Linux Distros, see if XSI works better and maybe install Open Suse 11, I downloaded a Live CD.

Ok Smiley After a few hours spent installing back an forth XSI, and with the help of Yuri, I finally managed to have a "kind of"  running again XSI 7.5 and started debugging the Template.
I found that the JScript
undefined
is not working as intended under Linux and producing an error, so I replaced it by
null
and now it's working !

I rereleased mostly everything Smiley

I got my hands on a XSI 7.5 and I recompiled sIBL_GUI_XSI_Server
Here is the link to this build :

As usual let me know if you have any problems !

hello everyone! First of all, a big thanks goes to everyone involved in developing sIBL, it makes life a lot easier.

I just installed sIBL for the first time on my home system (I only switched to XSI 7 recently and I was looking forward to trying it). The installation was completed successfully and, on a first glance, sIBL appears to be working fine (as far as I can tell scripts are output and executed properly) but then something goes wrong.

While in the preview visualization of FG the brightness of the image looks the way it's supposed to, the actual render looks a lot darker than it should (that actually includes the background image).

I tried several scenes with several sIBL files, I loaded an empty scene and executed the script and then rendered it out, I also tried rendering a scene before executing the script and then after executing it and the result was always the same. Everything looks darker than it's supposed to. If I import the sun and apply the env hdri as an environment in an empty scene rather than executing the script the brightness looks right.

I'm a little puzzled since I installed sIBL on a friend's system a couple of days ago and it works fine on the same version of XSI :S

Hello o/

I didn't really understood what you meant. When you do a "Render Region" the render is ok and as it should be, but it's not the case when you are doing a "Render Frame" ?

Sounds like gamma is on for the preview window, but not in the pass?

Hi Kel, saw your recompiled version for 7.5. Will have a go, haven't had much time lately to test stuff Wink

Hi Rork o/

Good Call with the pass, I'll check that tomorrow.
I'm currently working on some new features for sIBL_GUI, a GPS map has been added, and next versions should be able to get Templates and Help from an Online Repository Smiley

I checked the behavior with the Passes, and it seems to be correct. Notice that the Template will not connect the Raytype by default on the Passes, you need to enable the "Pass Selection Dialog" in the "Additional Attributes".
