Is this last version compatible with Softimage 2012?

Hi Pinin,

Yes! I have tested it with Softimage 2012 SAP, and at the time we speak I'm using it Smiley Notice that the Helper Script Addon if you use it needs to be updated ( Not the Server Addon ).

Hi,

Maybe a daft question, but is there (for the website's HDRI library) an 4.0 update available for the new preview image option and the .ibl files?

If so, I'm probably overlooking it Wink

cheers,

rob

Good point.
All the sets are updated, but I should probably put together an update package that only includes the additional files.

Hi Blochi,

Yes, that's what I was looking for. I feel it's a bit overkill to download all HDR's again, just for an updated .ibl file and a preview image Wink

Cheers for all the hard work, much appreciated!

Good point. It's just in my interest to save some server bandwidth.

www.hdrlabs.com/sibl/downloads/sIBL_Archive_UpdatePack.zip

Also added the link to the blog announcement and the sidebar of the Archive page. I noticed that for many people the sIBL-Archive is the entry point to come to the site, since it gets linked on a million resource websites everywhere. So I tried to make the page header a little bit more clear.

Cheers,
Blochi

The sIBL Raytype shader that is applied as a enviro shader, is it needed ?  I have deleted it from the pass, I see no difference in the render, what is it's main purpose ?

Why is my background rendering, when I have background rendering turned off in Smart_IBL_Controls?

Basically the Raytype node is there for render(time) optimization. If you remove it from the pass, your rendertimes will go up.

Not sure why your BG is still rendering when turned off, works on this end. Or do you mean the reflection of the BG?

Oh... what 3D app are you working in?
