sIBL_GUI For XSI - Helper Script Addon

sIBL_GUI 3 has been released and is not distributed anymore in an Addon, however you will still find here the Addon Helper Script and sIBL_GUI_XSI_Server.

sIBL_GUI For XSI - Helper Script

...

sIBL_GUI can directly connect to XSI through another Addon ( It's a separate file you need to dowload if you want to use this feature ) that enable remote connection to XSI (It's basically the C# XSI Server SDK Addon modified and recompiled to fit the needs of sIBL_GUI). The server will automatically start each time you start XSI.

Awesome.

I updated the Loader page to include XSI. Can you please doublecheck the table for me?
Linked to the framework thread in the sidebar, not sure about the way we would the distribution once the framework has templates for all sorts of software... the table is full!
Also made a nifty little XSI-Icon for the forum... It's all about style Wink

Worldscale (to control
the sun distance and global scale) : Yes provided by XSI template

Northdirection
(to rotate the enviroment) : Directly in the interface, you can rotate the feedback sphere, wich is linked to the environment shaders matrix
so I would be tempted to say yes Grin

Matte - ground plane
(to receive radiosity shadows) It will come, I just didnt put the shader on it like did Dschaga on max (will do it soon

Thanks Intuition, don't hesitate to give me feedback etc, I got some suggestions from Thiago (TC) on CGTalk, about the XSI Template, I'll update it this weekend to be faster (my code is very basic on it), include a progress bar otherwise you can think XSI is frozen and change for the new introduced linear workflow.
By the way I'm still trying to connect directly sIBL_GUI to XSI, I managed with 3dsmax and Maya, but I don't have luck with XSI.

Thanks works like a charm now and it doesn't freeze XSI while the GUI is running ... that for me on xsi7 64 bit Vista 64 bit Ultimate

I have a good news, I finally managed to directly connect to XSI and send the script. I'll release a new build today or tomorrow with all the stuff.

Big Update today for XSI users, sIBL_GUI can now directly connect to XSI, improved Template with progress bar, use of the new color management, option for physical sun shader onto the sun, a big part of the code has been converted to object model, the loading should be really faster !  Grin

Be advised that now I'm using the new color management system of XSI, tonemapping nodes are not needeed, you should manually remove them from the cameras in scene previously builded with sIBL_GUI !
