Any suggestions on install linux on intel minimac?
01/17/08 at 20:38:40

Hello,

Want to try Smart IBL but have Macos X so need to install Linux (do not have a Windows licence). How do I approach this? What Linux should I use?

Thanks!

Bob

ps The book just arrived Smiley

[UPDATE] found that Paralles Desktop for MAc can install Linux. Also saw in the sibllinux download that a document has the extension .deb (sIBLedit_0.995.deb) does this mean I have to install debian Linux? Sorry for typing silly assumptions but me a complete nono with this subject.

Not silly at all, I'm also not that foolproof on linux either  Tongue
basically a .deb file contains the menu / file placement structure of the files to install
http://www.fileinfo.net/extension/deb

you might also might try this:
http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/gcl/cvs/HOWTO-UNPACK-DEBS

sIBLedit was compiled running ubuntu (better said kubuntu).
Might update it by the end of the next week.
